Is Screeb alive, and who is this Obama guy?

Tags: , ,

Thank you to everyone who has sent me messages asking if I was alright, since it has been a while since the last post. To that guy who thought I killed myself, not a chance. The reason for the leave of absence was a severe low, or rather a depressed mental state. I had no motivation to write or blog about anything, and I became even more of a recluse. Many people have told me to have a successful blog, you have to blog every day or even a couple times a day. I really don’t care, and I’m not looking for a successful blog. The reason I write is to get thoughts out of my head and onto paper, as part of my own self-therapy. To those people who write me with their bipolar horror stories, my heart goes out to you. I am far from an expert and don’t always know how I can help, but I will try to answer when I can. For the most part, I am a somewhat unstable person trying to make it through the world myself. The good news is more posts are coming, for I’m out of the depression. It might only be a couple a week, but if you’re a fan of the site, I doubt you’ll mind.

So what have I missed in the last month? How about this Obama guy? I haven’t cared about politics before or even registered to vote. Maybe it is because our Country is so screwed up, but for some reason this election has captured my attention with the democratic race, and now I’m investigating John McCain. My feeling was that Hillary was a wrong choice, and I think it’s a good thing Obama won. I am not for McCain or Obama at this point, for I need to investigate further. The one thing that does interest me is how Obama is utilizing the media to the fullest for this election. The internet campaigning and utilization of YouTube is quite ingenious. I don’t believe the internet has been used to it’s full potential in an election to this point. Now that the power is unleashed, we will see every candidate doing the same thing. McCain will even step up and start using it more. This is a good thing, and it will help to get the facts and viewpoints of the candidates out to the citizens.

What does the future hold? I would love to see the ability to vote over the internet. I’ll probably register to vote this year and do it, but wouldn’t it be great if we could jump on the computer and plug in our social security number on a government site? Look at American Idol, and how 90 million people vote for singers using text messaging. I feel the impact would be great, if voting utilized phones, text messages, and the internet. There is the downside, where the voting can be more about voting for a candidate without knowing the facts. In the end, the benefits will greatly outweigh the downside. Lets continue to watch the election and make the right choice, and hopefully our new president can fix all of the mistakes that Frat boy Bush made!

Are you on lithium? If so, does it help? Side effects? What about sleep? I can’t sleep!!! I REALLY think I need to get back on some meds, I feel like I’m going insane! PLEASE HELP :(

Screebs Back! I’ts good to hear from you again. My episodes are like storm clouds passing over an island. The clouds come and create a terrible storm, but if I wait them out, they always pass by.
    Go Screeb :)

PS: This is to Mary Jo-I take Lithium and it makes me feel so sane. I think if you need meds, talk to your dr. and take them. Life is too short to suffer every second of every day. Be good to yourself, you deserve it.

    Hey Screeb,

Man depression is a mother. I have recently gone through a similar bout of the nasty feelings. Days when I don’t want to do anything but go to bed, and make myself go to work. They are never fun and reek havoc on productivity.

Plus it is also content. You have to have good content. You post shit everyday and no one listens. Anyway, keep up the good fight.

I took lithium once….and i overdosed on it in a suicide attempt…despite my dr. at the time feeling I wasn’t on enough, I don’t like the way it made me feel. I have been on Trileptal and Depakote for years and this has worked…it’s just the weight gain that drives me crazy. I would do anything to weight less and feel more upbeat so I could be more active. GO OBAMA…lol

Hey, Screeb. Thanks for adding me to your MySpace before I actually begin here.

I am glad to see that, like myself, you think that Bush 2.0 majorly screwed this country and ran it into the ground. I do aspire that eventually, someone will come along and clean up the mess but the likelihood is slim. As many people are aware, many politicians are more interested in what is in their own bank accounts let alone worried about if the children of this country are getting the healthcare they need or if the elderly are being properly taken care of.

I just want to say Thank You for being yet another voice of reason in this tragedy we call America.

When I get real depressed, I stay in bed for 2 or 3 days. That makes the depression even worse. It is very hard to bounce back.

    I hope things are better.

“I would love to see the ability to vote over the internet.” me too bu this just seems sooo far off given all the trepidation about voting machines etc. Too prone to hacking. Someday I do hope it happens

  10. Claire on October 17th, 2008 8:42 pm

you mention you would love to be able to vote on the internet. This is a great idea, but surely it would be open to serious abuse without any paper trail?

  11. Windshield Quote on November 10th, 2008 2:19 am

I believe online voting would skyrocket voter fraud, however I do feel that there are a great many benefits to online voting.

  12. Hawaiian Shirts on November 12th, 2008 1:31 am

Well, with the election now over and Obama the new president elect, I was curious to see how you voted. Did Obama or McCain get your vote in 2008? I myself voted for McCain. However, I do hope that Obama can bring the country together and turn this place around.

    Hi
Depression is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. I’ll give you a few tips to get rid of it, Search for the cause of the depression most of the time any heart breaking incident is the root cause for depression. Just think that everything in our life happens for our good only, listen to good music, eat your favourite food, trying being active and cheerful all the time.. I understand its bit difficult to do all this things as the coordination between the mind and heart is disturbed at that point of time.

I think if people had a finger print reader it would be a good idea… then if you chose to vote at home you must have that, would also be a good way to get finger prints on file.

You are right – blogging does not have to become a forced behaviour, it should be something you do when you have something on your heart that naturally flows over. Good job friend.

  37. Feeling Good on January 21st, 2010 2:18 pm

I suffer from depression (no highs like bi-polar) and have found that cognitive behavioral therapy is very helpful- it can be applied to bi-polar as well as many other disorders because it really helps develop a realistic and positve mindset.

If you cannot afford a therapist it is easy enough to do on yourself using a good book and pen and paper. It takes a little persistance but it will enable you to develop a healthy and balanced outlook.

My own natural tipis for depression:

St johns wort – this is prescribed in Germany ten times more than any other anti depressant so its not some witches hippy potion, works a treat and personal experience is no side effects.

5 htp: Serotonin – fairly instant happy.

    Vigirous exercise,

Cold showers- really aparently it increases dopamine by stimulating the ‘blue spot’ of the brain – similar but a lot les painful than eclectro shock therapy,

I liked your style. Though you haven’t written any new posts as promised I hope you are doing fine and live your life to it’s foolest. Be positive :)

Being lonely in a crowded room. Feeling sad and not knowing why, not being able to sleep, waking up in the morning not being able to move, giving up your life out of no choice, crying for no reason, making a demon appear in your head. Listen to its horrid world making your life spin in circles not knowing what path to take. The dead end of a road. The coffee black peice in your soul, not resting till the end of time, never leting it forget you, eating your soul, mind and heart. Try to run as you will, you life will be taken. Draging you one foot at a time into hell. The suicide you wish you could have just to end the pain. Pity when you hate others sympathy. Self hatred, sadness, anger, darkness, deadly, lonely, sorrowing, regreting, perpetual, and killing. Giving up your dreams to be stuck in the enternal force of demonic gravity. It is a world. It is my life.
